As Ireland prepares to assume the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, this event will bring together policymakers, infrastructure owners, developers, utilities, investors, researchers and industry leaders from across Europe to explore how geothermal heating and cooling can support Europe's energy transition.
The conference has been designed around two complementary themes:
Day 1 – Learning from Europe
Hear directly from organisations delivering geothermal district heating and cooling projects across Europe. Sessions will explore large-scale developments, innovative financing mechanisms, private investment, Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) models, and the policies and partnerships that have enabled geothermal markets to grow.
Day 2 – Delivering Geothermal in Ireland
An interactive workshop focused on translating European experience into Irish delivery. Through a series of roundtable discussions, delegates will explore the practical steps required to accelerate geothermal deployment in Ireland, including policy, regulation, investment, project development and market creation.
The programme has been developed to encourage collaboration between the organisations needed to deliver geothermal projects, from government and local authorities to developers, healthcare, housing, transport, utilities, investors and the wider supply chain A networking reception will also be held on the evening of Thursday 3rd September at the Jameson Distillery Bow St., providing an opportunity to continue discussions with delegates from across Europe and have a drink together!
